When it comes to the global import of sea freight containers, speed and safety go hand in hand. This may sound contradictory, but it is anything but.

Last Friday, we took delivery of the first truck in a series of three new Volvo FH460 tractors. The vehicles were built by LVS Leeuwarden and represent a significant step forward in our ongoing focus on sustainability and efficient transport.

Since Monday, October 6, we have added a great new addition to our fleet: an extendable B-Double Slider, specially built for LZV transport in Germany! A special addition that we are proud of and, of course, it first had to be picked up and approved. Our colleague Robert Benders, together with Niels van Hasselt, was sent to Sneek to pick up the new trailer. What started as an early drive turned into a day full of technology, pride, and a healthy dose of enthusiasm. Robert recounts his experience:

This afternoon, Oldenburger|Fritom hosted the Fritom Group's Top 40 meeting. The Fritom Top 40 meetings take place twice a year and are intended to inform colleagues within the group about current affairs.

During the Melkweg|Fritom Festival, colleagues, families, and international partners celebrated together what makes Melkweg|Fritom special: our people and the power of collaboration.

On September 11, the official kick-off of the classical opera performance "Cavalleria Rusticana" took place at our location in Heeg. Press presentations were given by director Wessel R. Veenstra and Arnaud Oosterbaan, conductor of the performance and director of production house Nootstroom.

Today, the certificate holders of the Fritom Group visited Oldenburger|Fritom in Veendam. Part of the program was a tour of our new and second BREEAM Outstanding distribution center, which was built according to the highest sustainability standards.

The final BREEAM scores for our new distribution center and the upgrade of our existing warehouse and head office were recently announced. Oldenburger|Fritom is proud to announce that these buildings in Veendam have also achieved an exceptionally high BREEAM Outstanding score.
