Fritom Group sets course for sustainable future with CSRD
In November 2022, the European Union adopted the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This directive requires companies from 2025 to report transparently on the impact of their activities on people and the environment. Fritom is also preparing intensively for this important transition.
"At Fritom we go for continuity and we realize that sustainability is the only way to go. In 50 years we still want to be that professional and sustainable family business. Since the CSRD directive will only accelerate the sustainability process, we have decided to embrace the CSRD and have started working energetically" said Reinder Beuving, CFO.
"Although Fritom has already made considerable strides in terms of sustainability, it quickly became clear that the legislation is complex and external support would be necessary. KPMG was chosen to support us in meeting the reporting requirements.
The CSRD process is tough and intensive, but it also motivates us to keep innovating. We are proud to be the first logistics provider to have developed a CO2 monitor that is ISO 14083 verified for road transport. By early 2025, this will be available for all modes of transport.
Last year, the CSRD team worked extremely hard to complete preparations on time. And starting in 2025, we will definitively measure and report our sustainability goals. Fritom is ready for it!"
