Sanders|Fritom was able to move into its new, sustainable building in March of last year, but due to Corona and all the associated restrictive measures, extensive tours were not possible earlier. Saturday, October 2,2021, however, was the day: Sanders|Fritom management and staff warmly welcomed the certificate holders of the Doorenbos, Veenstra and Wiersma families to their beautiful new building in Uden. The very sustainably built complex garnered much admiration. "Wonderful what has been put up here," was one reaction. Besides the fact that the day was mainly meant as a festive meeting, there was also an official moment. Tenoch, grandson of Sanders|Fritoms director Tom Wiersma had a very important task: an abseiler descended from the warehouse with the new key to the building. Tenoch took the key from him. Then he and his grandfather opened the building by pressing the red button. The weather gods favored them, as it was only after this solemn act that rain began to fall. Both certificate holders and Sanders|Fritom look back on a successful day.
Our youngest history
After already working together for several years, Veenstra|Fritom took over the transport activities of Bosma Logistiek from Heerenveen on May 1, 2022. The acquisition of this transport portfolio is fully in line with Veenstra|Fritom's growth ambitions as a logistics service provider.
On November 10, 2022, Oldenburger|Fritom celebrated its 105th anniversary. Management and employees stood together during a pleasant anniversary meeting to celebrate this beautiful anniversary. Ever since its establishment, Oldenburger|Fritom has focused on sector-oriented solutions. Today it does so in the high-tech, food, healthcare and fast moving consumer goods sectors, among others.
After careful consideration, Tom Wiersma decided in 2022 that it was time for him to take a step back from the business world, cut back on gas and enjoy more leisure time. With effect from 1 January this year, he therefore handed over the baton as Managing Director of Sanders|Fritom to Ron Beekmans, in whom Sanders|Fritom has found a worthy successor for Tom. Tom remains strongly associated with Sanders|Fritom. After the change of management, he has in fact become business advisor to this Fritom company.
When Fritom Corporate together with Melkweg|Fritom and Bidon|Fritom moved to the premises on the Marne in Bolsward in 2018, it was not yet foreseeable that 5 years later Fritom Corporate would have outgrown its premises. Nevertheless, that happened and the number of employees of Melkweg|Fritom and Bidon|Fritom also grew strongly. Therefore, in January of this year Fritom Corporate moved to a nice office building in Sneek, so that both Corporate and the liquidation companies have sufficient office space again.
In June 2023, Veenstra|Fritom celebrated its 95th anniversary. A good opportunity to look back on 95 years of hard work, growth and success during a beautiful anniversary celebration. Veenstra|Fritom started in 1928 with a single Opel truck and in 95 years has grown into a professional logistics partner with a strong focus on quality and sustainability. As a family business, Veenstra|Fritom is proud of its family values and the close ties with its employees.
TGN|Fritom has purchased a building plot of nearly 100,000m2 in the Hessenpoort industrial park in Zwolle in early July 2023. A BREEAM Excellent warehouse will be built on this plot, which will be delivered ready for construction at the end of this year.
The completion of Sanders|Fritom's new warehouse at the Jagersveld in Uden took place in early July 2023. Sanders|Fritom is very aware of the impact that the construction of a large warehouse has on its surroundings and on the environment. It has therefore chosen to build its new building under the BREAAM Excellent standard. The sustainable building features, among other things, white roofing for heat insulation, solar panels, ecological planting, an infiltration crate field in the ground for rainwater and a gray water circuit for flushing water in the toilets. The new warehouse has room for more than 20,000 pallet spaces.
